Thank you for taking the time to do this test.
Digestion starts in the mouth where a cascade of events trigger the production of digestive juices (e.g., stomach acid, enzymes and bile).
Without this digestive power, food can’t be broken down and nutrients can’t be absorbed.
Oftentimes, this manifests as picky/fussy eating behaviour and lack of appetite or interest in foods. This is an area for you to pay attention.
A number of nutritional and eating strategies can strengthen your child’s ‘digestion and love of foods:
- slowing down to eat
- eating as a family at least once a day
- chewing well
- mindful eating
- family cooking and shopping
- introducing different textures
- juicing
- eating a rainbow
- bitter foods at the start of a meal
But every child is different and so should the approach be.
